Honouring Dr Lillian Myers

Dr Lillian Myers

After 30 years of dedicated service, and developing the International College, we thank Dr Lillian Myers with deep appreciation and congratulate her as she moves into retirement.

Last year, we had the privilege of celebrating 30 years of dedicated service by Dr Lillian Myers, our esteemed Head of International. This year, we reflect on her leadership and service with gratitude and admiration, as we say farewell and congratulate her on her retirement commencing in April 2026, at the end of Term 1.

Reflecting on the Influence of Dr Lillian Myers

Dr Myers first answered the call to join 51СʪÃà in 1995 as Head of English in Secondary. Her passion for excellence, her love of language, and her unwavering commitment to Christian education blessed our students and the College. In 2004, she accepted the role of Director of the International College, guiding the program with wisdom and grace through years of steady growth.

As enrolments increased and the College expanded, Lily was appointed Academic Manager and Principal Administrator in 2012—a testament to her capability, vision, and the quality of the program she shaped. Even during the challenges of COVID, when the International College entered a temporary hibernation in 2021, Lily continued to serve faithfully. She used that season to research and draft the major publication for our 50th anniversary, ensuring our story was preserved with her characteristic clarity and care.

By 2023, under her leadership, the International College returned to full life, experiencing a miraculous resurgence and once again welcoming students in strong numbers.

Around the executive table, Lily is known for her spiritual maturity, honesty, and sharp insight. She offers timely guidance, thoughtful questions, and deeply powerful prayers. She is creative, courageous, and a visionary who sees not only what is, but what could be.

Yet it is perhaps through her messages during our staff prayer meetings that Lily has blessed us most profoundly. With her gift for language—sometimes entertaining, often moving, always meaningful—she paints pictures that inspire us to grow, to love more deeply, and to serve God more generously.

Thank you, Dr Lillian Myers, for your leadership, your wisdom, and your faithful service. Thank you for being a blessing to this College, to this ministry, to our students and staff, and to our team. Your legacy will live on.
